My Trek For Multiple Myeloma

Lynn Kessler Cella

Lynn Kessler Cella

Dear Friends and Family,

I am so excited to share with you my acceptance in the 2020 multiple myeloma “Trek” this June along the Kenai Alaskan Peninsula! Our Trek -- Moving Mountains for Multiple Myeloma -- is raising funds and awareness for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF). Thanks to the support of sponsors, trek members' participation is already covered so that 100% of the funds raised by each trek participant goes directly to the MMRF.

Multiple Myeloma (MM) is the second most common form of blood cancer. Over 30,000 people are diagnosed annually and an estimated 12,000 die from the disease each year. Tremendous progress is being made regarding treatment. Thanks to the important work of the MMRF, the FDA has approved ELEVEN new treatments, including FOUR in the past 18 months – a track record that's unparalleled in the world of oncology.

My personal connection to MM began early in 2014 when I was diagnosed with this challenging disease. I am so grateful my MM is in remission. I am dedicating this trek to the selfless members of the MM community and to the memory of Janice Ward, a fellow sufferer whose positive outlook, humor and grace enabled me to face my fears in a way no one else could.

My personal goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000. I need your help to get there! Please contribute whatever you can and share my page with friends, family and colleagues.

In appreciation,
Lynn Kessler Cella
