Scott Williamson

Dear Friends,

I will be participating in IRONMAN Florida on November 2, 2019 as part of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) Team For Cures. I completed this race in 2008 with my family including my beautiful Mom, Bobbie, cheering me on.

We lost her to multiple myeloma in 2016.

The work ahead of me? Swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, run 26.2 miles and raise much needed funds for the MMRF.
Training for this event is a big challenge, but nothing compared to the challenges faced by patients with multiple myeloma of which I have witnessed first hand.

Multiple myeloma is the second most common form of blood cancer and, though much progress has been made, myeloma still has one of the lowest five-year relative survival rates of all cancers.

The MMRF is one of the most highly regarded cancer foundations in the world. An outstanding 90% of the total MMRF budget goes directly towards research and related programming. The MMRF is in the top 1% of all charities, having earned Charity Navigator’s 4-star rating for the past twelve years in a row.

My Goal: Raise money for the MMRF in honor of my mom and cross that finish line knowing she is still cheering me on.

Please support my participation in IRONMAN Florida benefiting the MMRF. I have made a commitment to raise at least $5,000 and I need your help to get there. Please contribute whatever you can. It all adds up!

Please take this opportunity to give back and support this game-changing cancer organization.

Good luck in the race Scott, I'm sure your mom is looking down proud you're still fighting for her and all patients with multiple myeloma. Treatment for MM has come a long way, but obviously a long way still to go - the finish line is in sight!
